On 22nd December 2020, PEC organized a webinar training on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act for its grassroot activists and cadres. The training panel consisted of PEC Programme Director Prita Jha, Disability Expert and a Resource person Deepa Sonpal, and Maitreyi Shah who is an active citizen of Disability Rights all of whom delivered aspects of this training.
The aim of this training was to gain a deeper understanding of the replaced RPWD Act 2016 ahead of the Disability Project which will kick off at the organisation from January 2021. Some of the topics discussed were:
– Definition of Disability on the basis of Discrimination in the Act
– Education and Employment
– Accessibility
– Offenses
– Duty of the Officials
